Mrs. Chakona was appointed to the Homelink Board on the 1st of February 2024 as a Non-Executive Director and Deputy Board Chairperson. She is a Chartered Accountant with over 13 years of experience as a Partner in audit and consultancy. She is currently a Partner at Laurus Advisory. She holds a Bachelor of Accountancy Honours from the University of Zimbabwe, a Post Graduate Diploma in Auditing from the University of South Africa, a Zimbabwe Certificate in Theory of Accounting from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Zimbabwe, and an Honours Bachelor of Accounting Science from the University of South Africa. Mrs Chakona is a Registered Assessor with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Zimbabwe Institute of Chartered Accountants of Zimbabwe and a Registered Public Auditor (RPA) Public Accountants and Auditors Board (PAAB). She is also on the Boards of Turnall Holdings Limited, Manica Boards & Doors (Pvt) Ltd, and Vermis Trading (Pvt) Ltd. She was an EY Board of Governors Member and Secretary, Past Member of ICAZ Audit Committee, Past Committee Member of ICAZ – Women Chartered Accountants Network (WeCAN).
